Software Developer

Overview:

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (C80-18-0319-F)

Bowhead is seeking a Software Developer to support Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division Detachment Norfolk (NSWCCDDN) located at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story.

Responsibilities:

• Work with internal, client and commercial customers in developing application systems.

• Conducting analysis of current and new application systems developed.

• Design, develop, program and test computer software that is complex in nature and requires extensive research.

• May be called upon to provide work leadership and mentorship to lower level employees.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other related field, from an accredited college or university OR advanced training in the field of computer programming, with eight years of computer programming experience in addition to the minimum experience requirement stated above.

Five years of experience in the field of computer programming, including a sound familiarity with programming techniques and various programming languages.

Three years of experience in providing technical guidance and skills in support of information systems development and integration efforts.

A Master’s degree may be used to substitute for years of experience.

Advanced training in the field of computer programming and an additional eight years of computer programming experience may be used to substitute for the Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
