Overview:

Join Quarterhill as a Senior QA Specialist to help us deliver technical excellence and outstanding customer service in a team environment, where each member radiates our core values of integrity, excellence, collaboration, innovation, and passion. Under general direction, debugs complex software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for company products. This opportunity is for someone to work in Texas in a hybrid position.

Responsibilities:

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Consults with the development team in problem resolution, demonstrating judgment and creativity.

Interacts with senior internal and external teams, providing assistance for consultation on complex projects.

Develops, publishes, and implements test plans, maintaining documentation of test results and execution.

Designs and codes automated test scripts using tools like Cucumber, Jenkins, and Git.

Analyzes test results, ensuring existing functionality, and recommending corrective action.

Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts.

Assists in the development of quality assurance standards and prepares reports and documentation updates.

Must work independently with minimal supervision, able to design and document the test strategy for complex projects.

Qualifications:

Education

4 year degree required in a related field, such as computer science, business administration or engineering.

Prior work or coursework in C, C++, .NET or Java is required.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in directly applicable functional QA role.

Extensive experience in automated function testing using tools such as Selenium or similar.

SQL skills are required.

Must have a working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.

Experience with JUnit is a plus.

Familiar with Windows, UNIX and/or Solaris environments.

Prior experience working in projects using Agile or Waterfall methodology, iteration and user stories is preferred.

Prior experience with enterprise ERP systems (high-volume transaction processing) is preferred.
