Our client is is a leading application Engineering Consulting firm in the Washington, D.C. metro region specializing in Management Services, Technology Solutions and Facilities Services. They partner with and assist Federal, State and local government agencies; private sector Energy Services Companies (ESCOs); and Commercial entities in the design and implementation of their various Engineering and Technology related projects. Additionally, they are able to leverage an engineering team with proven technology industry experience that resulted in multi-million-dollar contracts within federal government, state & local government clients!
Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to play a crucial role in the Data Strategy project for establishing an enterprise data solution. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing data systems and reporting frameworks, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data. You will transform raw data into structured information for analysis that drives strategic business decisions. This position encompasses the full analysis lifecycle from requirement gathering to data cleansing and report generation.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to understand data needs and objectives
Gather data from primary and secondary sources, ensuring the upkeep of databases and data systems
Detect, examine, and decode trends or patterns within intricate datasets
Extract, clean, and transform data from diverse sources for analysis
Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
Examine data quality, applications, and functions to ensure accurate migration
Cleanse data and scrutinize computer-generated reports and outputs to identify and rectify coding errors
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Generate visualizations and reports for stakeholders
Partner with engineering and product development teams to understand business requirements
Employ statistical techniques to scrutinize data and produce actionable insights
Engage with SMEs of various departments to specify data requirements for analysis projects tailored to their unique business processes
Requirements
Proven experience as a Data Analyst or related role with a minimum of 5 years of experience required
Technical expertise in data models, database design, data mining, and segmentation techniques
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages and databases (SQL, etc.)
Proficient in programming languages (Python, R, etc.)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail
Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings
Capable of critically evaluating data to derive meaningful, actionable insights
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
Education/Certification Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science) is required
Drivers License Requirements
Applicants selected must have an appropriate driver's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
