Overview:
The Commercial Title Underwriter is responsible for handling assigned transactions and company requests in a timely, professional, and skilled manner. Candidate must be detail oriented and possess strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively. This is a full-time position in Uniondale, NY. Experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for answering emails in a timely and professional manner
Direct communication with clients, transactional parties, and underwriters.
Organizing third-party providers and vendors to deliver elements that cannot be produced in-house
Monitor individual files to ensure deadlines for production are met
Reviewing, amending and circulating Title Reports as required
Preparing and updating Title Affidavits
Preparing and updating Proforma policies
Preparing and updating Title Invoices
Requesting HiLi approval from various underwriters and coordinating coinsurance as required
Clearing title requirements and preparing files for closing
Coordinating closing statements with underwriters and transactional parties
Facilitation sit down and escrow closings, including review of escrow instruction letters
Collecting documents for closing and ensure requirements therefor are met to conduct a successful closing
General underwriting and title-related inquiry assistance as the transactions may require
Issue final Title Policies
Issuance of date down endorsements and special search letters
Will also assist Company with general administration of Company obligations and reporting to Board of Directors
Qualifications:
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Close attention to detail.
Must work well under pressure in a fast paced, team driven environment.
Problem solving abilities, decisiveness and good judgment to prioritize under time constraints.
Professional and dependable.
Strong organizational skills demonstrating the ability to manage multiple files in different phases of completion.
Willingness to teach others title insurance best practices and install and revise Company practices and procedures to increase operational efficiency.
Basic computer skills, ability to learn and utilize title-specific software.
The salary range for this role is $(phone number removed)- $175,000. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.
