About the job

The Global Industry Marketing Team is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to use extensive Banking sector domain knowledge in combination with marketing skills to work with colleagues from across SAS to accomplish two primary objectives: a) taking the lead on Global Banking Portfolio Readiness; and b) serving as the Global Banking Communities Lead.

Portfolio Readiness will account for approximately 55% of your time, and you’ll be responsible for leading the strategic development and implementation of the global banking portfolio of offerings, as well as sales and partner enablement. You are instrumental in fostering the global community among SAS sales and pre-sales teams to facilitate sharing of best practices and approaches to help drive increased revenue globally in banking. Banking is the largest sector by revenue within SAS, and you’re going to be close to the action.

Specific to your role as Banking Community Manager, you may offer an authoritative and differentiated point of view on the analytic market needs, market strategy, key account planning, and local business development support to remain closely aligned with customer-facing functions in coordination with Global Marketing.

As a Product Marketing Manager, you will:

Leads the strategic development and implementation of the global banking portfolio of value propositions and use cases.

Delivers enablement content into the SAS Sales Enablement Platform and ensures materials remain relevant.

Responsible for content for internal self-service enablement sites and sales tools.

Supports sales enablement through customer engagements, consulting, and internal education programs.

Participates in enablement strategies for SAS with partners and alliances.

Designs and delivers exceptional banking industry training for incoming global sales and pre-sales staff in banking, as well as training for corporate sales kick-offs and other key events in which industry training is required.

Oversees planning and execution of banking communities to facilitate sharing of best practices and key assets.

Designs and delivers key communication products to include newsletters and other assets.

Defines product launch plans and works with internal and external parties to execute.

Works to grow and motivate the Banking industry community globally, sharing use cases and experience, and connecting teams for effective collaboration.

Remains closely aligned with all customer-facing functions all geographies, coordinating with Global functions.

Sharpens and guides SAS positioning against competition, leveraging excellence in the region and globally.

Required Qualifications

Deep industry domain expertise in Banking (typically 5+ years of experience).

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related discipline.

Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements above.

Preferred Qualifications

Banking-focused experience in Marketing, Sales, Consulting, or a related function in the technology industry, preferably in product marketing.

Ability to articulate/translate product and service capabilities into customer issue context.

Ability to identify key target audiences and from them create necessary personas who influence the buying decision.

Organizational skills for managing commitments, schedules, and deadlines.

Ability to map product/portfolio and customer business pains into product marketing plans.
