Tutor

We are seeking hands-on, interactive, engaging, dedicated and experienced Elementary Reading Intervention Educator/Tutor to join us this summer at our tutoring company. As many of our students are English Language Learners (ELL) or dyslexia, you need to have experience working with this demographic and possess the skills to adapt lessons to meet their unique needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, particularly in the areas of reading and literacy, and committed to helping students achieve their academic goals.

Duties and Responsibilities: You will have a one-on-one class with your student from 10am-1pm, 3 to 4 days per week. (M/T/W/F)

Lesson Planning:

Create tailored/personable lesson plans in ELA and some Mathematics based on each student's individual needs, strengths, and weaknesses.

Conduct one-on-one reading sessions with elementary school students from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, 3 to 4 days per week.

Develop and implement personalized reading intervention plans tailored to each student's unique needs and learning styles.

Utilize evidence-based reading strategies and interventions to improve students' reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary.

Assess students' reading abilities and monitor progress over time through ongoing assessments and evaluations.

Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other educational professionals to support students' overall academic success.

Adapt lessons and instructional materials to meet the specific needs of English Language Learners (ELL), incorporating culturally responsive teaching practices.

Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students to enhance their confidence and motivation in reading.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in education or related field.

Seeking recently graduated candidates

Drive to and from our location. (In-person position)

Valid teaching certification/license.

Teaching elementary school students, particularly those who are English Language Learners (ELL).

Strong knowledge of ELA standards.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping students succeed.

Create and write lesson/notes.

Summer session duration. Can extend into school year if a qualified fit.

Schedule:

3 to 4 hours per day, 3 to 4 days per week (9am - 12pm)

With opportunity to tutor other students

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 15 per week
