FULLY REMOTE: PLEASE READ QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION BEFORE APPLYING

Responsibilities and Duties

Create permit drawings in accordance with local municipal and state regulation.

Produce drawings per design standards for the purposes of obtaining excavation permits.

Conduct utility research using tools such as Google Earth, various GIS Software from the municipalities, and any information gathered from Fielding department.

Collaborate with other departments (Engineering and Aerial) to effectively design fiber optic networks for various client’s needs.

Create and revise civil drawings within public right-of-way or per agency requirements.

Research building data, state and local code requirements, and interpret survey data for accuracy and verification of project

May be asked to design traffic control plans (TCPs) for custom and typical requirements in accordance with Work Area Traffic Control Handbook, (WATCH) and Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, (MUTCD) standards

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum 2+ years AutoCAD experience

A thorough understanding/experience in the Outside Plant telecom industry, public right-of-way, private easements, existing utilities such as water, sewer, electric, gas, and other underground and aerial utilities

Experience in Traffic Control Planning and Underground/Substructure permit drawings

AA Degree in Engineering Technology/Drafting or equivalent combination of education and recent CAD experience

Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Word)

Strong teamwork capabilities and communication skills

A highly motivated individual capable of performing in a fast-paced environment

Overtime may be required as needed to meet client deadlines

Proficiency in AutoCAD, base-mapping, fundamental knowledge of running line, conduit, cable design fiber optics, manholes, and hand holes
