Ecolab is searching for a driven General Ledger Accounting Supervisor for future opportunities within our Finance division in Pune, India.

Ecolab is seeking a supervisor to join our Finance team.

This is a key role responsible for leading and coordinating the month-end close process and serving as a finance partner to divisions and functions across the company.

What You Will Do:

Oversee all month end closing processes; continually develops low cost, effective transactional systems, and reporting.

Responsible to contribute to achieving the RTR metrics and productivity goals defined by the company.

Manage the operational activities of the department to include staffing levels, budgets, and financial goals.

Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department.

Coordinate the activities of team members.

Coaching and training of team members.

Manage team resources (leaves, exams, vacations, attrition, hiring, etc).

Analyze and document business processes and problems. Develop solutions to enhance efficiencies.

Assist staff to resolve complex or out of policy operation problems.

Coordinate with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels.

Ensure proper controls over RTR closing activities.

Responsible to monitor the effectiveness of controls included in the processes under their review (including Sox controls)

Set up goals and discuss performances with team members.

Work on succession plans (detect potential candidates and develop strategies).

Responsible of preparation / review of the Key Performance Metrics (KPI s).

Responsible to keep up to date the SLA (Service Level Agreement), closing checklist and control lists.

Active participation in projects and transitions, where they are identified as SME or key team member.

Detect improvement opportunities to trigger off new projects or efficiency opportunities.

Participate and/or coordinate writing, updating and defining desktop procedures, Policies and Narratives.

Be actively part of the recruiting process for new employees.

Design and develop training programs on as needed basis.

Ensure cost control and efficiency through automation and standardization, delivering top quality services to internal and external clients.

Internal and external reporting.

Support knowledge management activities by identifying and updating knowledge as requested and required.

Contribute continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities and implementing changes to enhance processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree in accounting or finance and eight or more years of significant work experience with at least one year of supervisory experience.

Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Solid understanding of accounting principles.

Understanding of internal controls over financial reporting (i.e Sox)

Demonstrate knowledge of USGAAPs (IFRS a plus)

Knowledge of SAP (GL, CO, BI) and clear understanding of payroll and financial accounting processes, incl. US GAAP.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word and Outlook software.

Strong written and oral communication skills with fluency in English.
