Gpac has teamed up with a growing company looking for an Experienced Electrical Engineer with experience in Crane designing
Job Purpose
• Design electrical and electronic systems for overhead crane control solutions.
• Evaluate electrical and electronic systems,programs and components by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of electricity, materials and programming.
• Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods.
• Develop electronic and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators and suppliers.
• Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling and installing components.
• Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly and installation processes.
• Maintains company reputation by complying with government regulations.
• Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special services.
• Designs, programs and implements software programs for the control and safe operation of overhead material handling equipment.
• Recommend architect and develop PLC, inverter and HMI solutions that best fit the application of overhead cranes.
• Develop, maintain and support schematics, wiring diagrams and support necessary for components related to the electrical systems and controls of overhead cranes.
• Assist in the final wiring connections, start-up,implementation of control panels and equipment on the overhead cranes.
Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Protect and maintain the integrity of ECI and the quality our customers have come to expect and demand.
• Poses and utilize strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and follow through.
• Control engineering costs and times, meeting or exceeding expected time lines.
• Responsible to schedule team members to maintain productivity and meet or exceed expected time lines.
• Responsible to PROTECT, maintain and advance the hardware and software of the engineering department. (Confidentiality Agreements are required.)
• Work with the engineering manager to develop design & drawing standards to include but not limited to: o Standard drawing templates to include sizes and title block o Standard drawing templates/packages to include customer approval drawings, shop build drawings, etc. o Standard drawing specifications to include, but not limited to layer types, line types and color types.
• Review job files and develop an engineering plan and time line.
• Process customer approval drawings, bills of materials, purchase requisitions, machining drawings and shop build drawings to meet or beat the time line and required deliveries.
• Control drawings and drawing revisions going into and out of the shop.
