Position Overview: As a Secondary English Teacher (TGT) - Master Teacher, you will assume a leadership role in delivering comprehensive and rigorous English language arts instruction to students in the secondary grades. Leveraging your expertise in English literature, language acquisition, and literacy development, you will inspire a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking while guiding and mentoring fellow educators to enhance instructional practices, promote academic achievement, and foster a culture of lifelong learning within the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Leadership: Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of a standards-based English language arts curriculum that promotes literacy proficiency, critical analysis, and communication skills development, incorporating diverse texts, genres, and multimedia resources to engage and challenge students.

Instructional Coaching and Mentoring: Provide instructional guidance, feedback, and support to English teachers, department members, and instructional staff, fostering their growth as effective educators through collaborative lesson planning, model lessons, and professional development opportunities focused on pedagogical best practices, differentiated instruction, and data-driven decision-making.

Classroom Demonstration and Modeling: Demonstrate exemplary teaching practices through classroom observations, model lessons, and co-teaching experiences, showcasing innovative instructional strategies, technology integration, and student-centered approaches to enhance learning outcomes and inspire colleagues.

Assessment and Data Analysis: Analyze student performance data, formative assessments, and standardized test results to identify learning gaps, track progress, and inform instructional planning, utilizing assessment data to differentiate instruction, provide targeted interventions, and support students in achieving academic success.

Professional Learning Communities: Facilitate and participate in department meetings, grade-level teams, and professional learning communities (PLCs) to collaborate on curriculum alignment, instructional planning, assessment design, and the implementation of research-based strategies to improve teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes.

Parent and Community Engagement: Cultivate positive relationships with parents, guardians, and community stakeholders through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, curriculum nights, and outreach events, promoting collaborative partnerships and active involvement in student learning, school initiatives, and extracurricular activities.

Professional Development and Leadership: Pursue opportunities for personal and professional growth through participation in conferences, workshops, graduate coursework, and leadership development programs, staying abreast of current research, educational trends, and best practices in English language arts instruction to inform instructional leadership and school improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in English Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).

Valid teaching certification or licensure for secondary English language arts, with demonstrated subject matter expertise and content knowledge in literature, composition, language acquisition, and literacy instruction.

Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in secondary English education, with a proven track record of improving student achievement, implementing effective instructional strategies, and mentoring colleagues.

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower educators, build collaborative teams, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional learning within the English department and school community.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to establish rapport with diverse stakeholders, facilitate productive discussions, and resolve conflicts constructively.

Proficiency in data analysis, assessment design, and instructional decision-making to drive school improvement efforts, ensure equitable access to high-quality education for all students, and promote a culture of academic excellence and student success.
