Your Role
EF Brighton is currently looking for an Academic Coordinator to join our vibrant and diverse academic team, supporting our Director of Studies (DOS) and ensuring the smooth administration of our academic programmes. The role runs throughout summer 2024, on a fixed term contract and with permanent opportunities available afterwards.
Responsibilities
To ensure the smooth, effective administration of all academic programmes
To ensure students receive the highest levels of customer service in the Academic department
To support the Academic team and teaching teams by ensuring the smooth day to day running of the department
To support the DOS with timetabling, ensuring all students are allocated to appropriate classes taking into account special requests, budgetary parameters, visa types and additional courses (e.g. internship), all classes are allocated to appropriate rooms and working with the DOS to ensure teachers are properly assigned to classes
Ensures timetables are finalised in a timely manner for students and teachers and are accurate
Conducts regular checks on teacher administration and provides feedback as directed by DOS
Cover for teacher absence as directed by DOS
Shares emergency phone duty on a rota basis
Deals with student enquiries, problems and complaints as required
Assists with attendance monitoring (attendance check, follow up, issue of attendance letters, etc)
Requirements
Qualified EFL teacher (CELTA or equivalent)
Customer service focused with excellent communication and people skills
Strong MS Office skills
Enjoys working in busy & varied environment
Excellent customer service skills, communication & people skills
Ability to handle difficult situations with ease, remaining calm & positive under pressure
All offers are subject to a clear DBS check and two references
Right to work in the UK
C2 level of English
