We are looking for a passionate and highly skilled Technical Lead to spearhead our data engineering team. In this role, you will play a critical part in building, and scaling our data infrastructure and pipelines, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like Snowflake and dbt. You will also be responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of talented data engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Architecture & Modeling:

Design and implement robust data models optimized for Snowflake, incorporating best practices such as Data Vault 2.0, Snowflake and Star Schema methodologies.

Develop and maintain data dictionaries, ensuring consistency and clarity across the data landscape.

Data Pipeline Development & Management:

Build, and maintain highly scalable and efficient data pipelines using Snowflake and DBT.

Implement robust data quality checks and monitoring processes to ensure data integrity.

Excellent command of writing complex transformations using Snowflake Script(SQL), and stored procedures in Javascript and Python.

Technology Leadership:

Drive the adoption and implementation of DBT within the data engineering team, establishing best practices and workflows.

Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data engineering, evaluating and recommending new tools and approaches.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of data engineers, fostering their growth and development.

Promote a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team.

Required Qualifications:

Extensive experience in data warehousing and data modelling, with a strong understanding of Data Vault 2.0 (ideally 3+ years of implementation experience), Snowflake and Star Schema methodologies

Proven expertise in Snowflake (ideally 4+ years), including writing complex queries, data loading, transformation, and optimization techniques. Experience with performance tuning features like Time Travel, Streams, and Tasks, security best practices, and various data ingestion methods (Snowpipe, bulk loading) is highly desired.

Experience with DBT (ideally 2+ years) or similar data transformation tools is required.

Experience with DBT Cloud or DBT CLI, implementing tests and documentation, complex project structures and macros, and CI/CD pipelines for DBT is also preferred.

Proficiency in SQL and other data manipulation languages such as Java Script and Python.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively lead and mentor a team (2+ years of experience leading engineering teams).

Strong ability to define BI use cases into data engineering use cases, provide estimation, and drive the team to complete those user stories using agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
