Technical Expert/Program Manager, Parts management (GCSP)

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development, India is seeking a Technical Expert/Program Manager with a strong technical background in spare part definition and management for series and after series topics in GCSP domain.

What is GCSP?

GCSP is the bridge between RD and Retailers that defines and ensures the wellness of every vehicle ever produced until its entire lifecycle until it becomes a classic. GCSP affects our retailers & workshops directly and ensures customer satisfaction throughout their vehicle use experience. Overall GCSP generates more than 30% revenue for the entire organization.

For this every component of every vehicle needs to be rightly understood, to define the best ways it can be assessed in the workshop environment for service and maintenance. Technical understanding of entire vehicle systems in relation to the way it was designed and the environment it will be manufactured, assembled and sold is very important.

Key Job Responsibilities:

· Manage and coordinate teams working in series and after series phases for spare parts definition, creation, documentation and Customer complaints.

· Regular stakeholder connect, partner engagement and when required escalation management.

· Working closely with Business partners and different departments for gathering parts information & documenting for further use.

· Responsible for committed projects, resource-planning and aligning work with respect to the department strategy maintaining Quality, Cost, Time.

· Responsible to ensure KPI of the projects are monitored, tracked ( on Power Bi) and targets achieved as per yearly agreements.

· Responsible for monthly KPI reviews with partner.

· QMS standards are followed, tracked, and monitored on regular basis.

· Expected to participate in Innovation, continuous improvement activities and efficiency.

· Set processes for XSF ticket resolution, MBOX queries and KEMs resolution.

· Work out efficient processes and improve/automate existing processes to improve the efficiency, excellence and competitiveness of the department RD/IGS.

· Take initiative and be responsible for department level values adds. Support in organization strategy execution.

· Ensure effective team, customer and supplier communication.

· Knowledge and competency build-up of self and of team.

Basic Qualification:

· Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical & Electronics/ others engineering.

· 10 -14 years of overall experience in automotive parts management, After-sales processes, automotive parts supply chain, project management.

Desired Skills and Experience

· Working knowledge of Automotive product development & design methods.

· Knowledge on Automotive parts and their functions, vehicle overall architectures, sheet metal part design, plastic part design, parts materials.

· Expertise on PDM/PLM tools (e.g. Teamcentre or Windchill), CAD modeling tools (NX, solid works, etc), BOM management for production and After-sales (e.g. DIALOG-E), engineering changes, parts managements, parts release.

· Working knowledge on developing repair concepts, repair manuals for various automotive aggregates.

· Experience Project management methods (like MS Project, Power Bi or equivalent )

· Proficient in making project plans, tracking, presentation and reporting (like MS Office)

· Escalation management within the function and cross functions rooting to the cause, closing the loop.

· Awareness on automotive parts reliability, field issues, problem solving skills and tools like 8D etc.

· Awareness of QMS standards.

· Automotive supply chain experience is preferred.

· Good communication skills and ability to lead the technical discussions.

· Experience in the automotive field and exposure of multi-cultural environment is an added advantage.

· Experience in the Mercedes Benz or equivalent Workshops, hands on with MB cars or any other OEMs is an added advantage.

· Ensure effective team, customer and supplier communication.

· Knowledge and competency build-up of self and of team.

· Coaching and mentoring of team members.

· Basic knowledge on German language preferred.
