We have an ambitious Chief Data Office and are building a class-leading data team that works to solve complex business challenges and provide insights to improve our business and customer experience. To enhance the team, we are looking for an innovative, eager data analyst to grow the Data Governance Office in executing the Data Management and Data Governance roadmap. The position will require knowledge of enterprise data governance, data analysis practices, business analysis, and the technical tools to execute on those roadmaps. You will assist with source system identification to understand the business need, working through critical data elements and profiling, and support the technology team to implement processes to ensure good data quality. In addition, the position will work with our business partners and data owners to complete our data catalog with required Data Quality rules and ties to business terms to establish better understanding of Old National’s data. An ability to work with both our business partners and technical teams through these processes will be key to a successful execution and adoption of best practices.
Key Accountabilities
Execution of Data Management and Data Governance roadmaps in accordance with direction from direct leadership and executive leadership.
Data Engineering, basic ETL understanding as well support a Data Engineering team execute required Data Governance Standards.
Source system analysis: Understand the business processes within, data profiling, establish specific data quality rules, catalog data items to ensure proper data lineage is established and maintained.
Monitor data quality and assist with data remediation per standards and guidelines established with key stakeholders.
Perform ad hoc analysis of data and source systems as request come in.
Key Competencies for Position
Working knowledge of data governance principles and frameworks
Source system profiling via a variety of tools and methods (Informatica, MS Power Query, etc.)
Ability to write data quality rules (business facing and pseudo code)
Data lineage/data Catalog knowledge
Master data management
Develop key relationships with business partners and technology to deploy processes and technologies to support
Lead working sessions to review processes, data, and make recommendations for improvement where applicable
Support technical teams with technical requirements when implementing Governance Standards
Ability to understand applications, process, and the data captured during those processes.
SQL capabilities: writing, reading, and troubleshooting at a moderate to advance level
ETL Ability: Able to support basic ETL code and processing, can step in as needed to adjust code or help run items as required.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in related field; advanced coursework/training related to data management, computer science, management information systems
3+ years’ experience in banking and finance
3+ years’ experience working with data analysis/profile tools, including but not limited to Informatica, SQL Server, MS Power Query, etc.
3+ years’ experience in developing data quality rules
1-2 years’ experience in ETL work
3+ years’ experience working in a variety of data models, ODS, Relational, Fact/Dimension
Understanding of reporting and data analytics to ensure overall accuracy
Knowledge of industry leading practices in Analytics and Data Movement
Solid written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate and support data culture change initiatives
Client-centered approach to working with line of business stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to engage directly with C-level executives when sharing data, reports and presentations
Preferred working knowledge of banking systems and tools (MeridianLink/LoansPQ, Encompass, Velocify, Fiserv Signature, Marquis Executrax MCIF) preferred
Ability to manage individual projects while working as part of a team on larger initiatives
Preferred exposure to Six Sigma practices
