Vast is looking for a Facilities Technician, reporting to the Associate Director, Mojave Test Site, to support the maintenance of the facility that will be developing artificial-gravity human-rated space stations and the E-2 LOX/Kerosene oxidizer-rich staged combustion engine. This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located at our Mojave Test Site location.
Responsibilities:
Provides general and detailed maintenance (either with direct or indirect supervision), including patching, painting, hardware repairs and other repair/replacement work as required
Track and perform routine facilities maintenance on HVAC, minor electrical and plumbing systems
Maintain all roads and pathways within the site, including ordering road base as needed
Maintain test facility grounds in a clean and orderly manner including weeding, litter removal, pest control and scrap material removal
Responsible for minor vehicle maintenance
Manage maintenance and facility improvement tickets with timely response and update of ticketing system upon completion of tasks
Order/purchase all supplies required for facilities maintenance
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or similar role
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Prior facilities experience
Forklift experience and certification
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, along with effective teamwork abilities
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
