GENERAL DUTIES

Ensures that the POC testing meets all regulatory requirements for standards, designing organized, well documented and thorough program providing assistance to all POC testing user sites.

Compiles all data into a monthly report to be reviewed by the Laboratory manager noting any deficiencies or errors.

Monitors POC patient results. Reviews glucose meter results, troubleshoot any unusual or unexpected values.

Troubleshoots performance failures and initiates corrective action and/or repair. Maintains glucose meter inventory and changeout.

Remains current on POCT instrumentation and procedures in the field. Gives input into selection of instrumentation appropriate for POCT needs.

Identifies and implements avenues for POCT quality process improvement in collaboration with the senior management.

Coordinates testing education to include organizing required training and competency testing for non-laboratory staff performing POC testing.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist or Specialist) issued through LSBME

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Capable of working under stress, must have excellent time management skills and be able to make decisions independently.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be adaptable to a fluid work environment where deadlines and priorities are constantly changing.
