Quality Control Technician - Incoming Inspection

This position will report to the Quality Control Manager/QC Quarantine Lead. The position requires an individual who works independently and in a team environment, experienced in cGMP requirements, quality control, attention to detail, and excellent communication with other functional areas and sites.

Who We're Looking For:

Essential Functions:

Follow QC Incoming Quality Inspection related quality control and standard operating procedures.

Review and approve criteria for analyses carried out under contract through private labs. Ensure that the analytical procedures followed comply with USP/NF requirements.

Ensure raw material specification sheets are updated and meet USP/NF requirements.

Inspect, review, and release incoming items intended for production use in relation to their raw material specification sheet.

Communicate with Supply Chain and Inventory Control to ensure appropriate items in inventory are available, appropriately qualified, documented, and released for approved use.

Review and approve testing performed for raw materials in relation to their acceptance criteria specifications.

Obtain or request vendor/manufacturer certificates of analysis/conformance/sterility for all sterile raw materials.

Initiate and investigate deviations when errors occur.

Perform sampling of raw materials in a cleanroom environment and submit for laboratory testing.

Track all API and excipients due for retesting on a monthly frequency.

Safely operate pallet jack and forklift when moving materials as needed.

Work in a team or independently to release incoming materials.

Other duties as assigned to ensure appropriate quality practices.

Able to lift 30 pounds and practice safe lifting techniques.

Able to multitask if necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Experience and Necessary Skills:

Minimum 0-2 years in a quality position at a cGMP or GMP facility. Sterile injectable product preferred. Food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical will be considered.

Inventory management and warehouse experience desired.

Able to identify potential adverse issues.

Excellent organization and documentation skills.

Detail oriented.

Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

High School Diploma or equivalent. College diploma with focus on sciences preferred.
