Motor Technology, Inc., a national leader in providing superior quality and value in electro-mechanical repairs and services to our customers, is seeking an experienced Industrial Electromechanical Field Service Technician I. Since 1981, we have been an integral part of keeping national industries up and running smoothly and efficiently. We are a family-owned company that builds, services, and sells industrial motors, controls, gearboxes, and related driven equipment for advanced electric motor systems. Our Field Service Techs are responsible for performing repairs on various kinds of electromechanical equipment at our customers' facilities.

The hours for this job are 7:00AM-3:30PM with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

Technicians report to MTI to clock in before going to customer site.

Responsibilities:

Read job cards to determine job status, work authorizations/limitations, estimate, description of problems, and/or expected serviceability.

Test electromechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods (AC or DC).

Disassemble electromechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration, and condition.

Clean electromechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including, but not limited to: parts washers, steamers, caustic tank, glass beaders, etc.

Measure for or note proper placement of parts. Correctly requisition needed parts.

Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electromechanical assemblies, including, but not limited to: bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, brakes, clutches, clutch rotors, tachs, fans, end shields, etc.

Perform laser alignments of driver to driven equipment.

Perform dynamic balancing using handheld data collectors.

Take vibration reading, perform quick analysis, and verbally discuss finding with customers.

Retest reassembled electromechanical equipment for proper output and operation.

Complete required forms on computer system for each job accurately.

Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, and other equipment as needed.

Lift (using forklift or overhead crane), tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties.

Assemble, move, set up, and dismantle tools and machinery.

Read plans.

Operate cranes, gantries, and trucks.

Use tools properly.

Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear.

Travel daily to various customer sites within a 2-hour radius.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

5+ years of industrial related electromechanical experience

Millwright experience

Mechanical aptitude

Ability to understand, perform, and retain skill-related training, and operational and safety procedures

Good computer skills

Provide tools and toolbox

Able to lift up to 50lbs

Willing to be on call one weekend every four weeks

Valid Driver's License

Able to pass a DOT physical

Able to work over-time
