Job Responsibilities Under general supervision of the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Must have the ability to work independently and handle multiple projects with varying priorities.

The Registrar provides strong leadership and oversight for the development, implementation, management of activities, and systems related to academic records, student registration, academic scheduling, degree audits, grades, and the Colleague (Student Information System) records and registration modules.

This position manages and directs all phases of the Office of the Registrar and provides and maintains accurate information on all college academic programs and courses, clinical rotations, internships, and externships.

The Registrar serves as the college's FERPA and Residency officers.

* Provides strategic planning, direction, and supervision for the Office of the Registrar.

Manage the department's budget student information system, electronic records storage, registration, data integrity, student academic records, recording transfer credit, degree audit and clearance, graduation certification, athletic eligibility and certification, veteran's certification, National Student Clearinghouse submission, scheduling of courses and final examinations, development of the academic calendar for approval by the administration, and updating of the College catalog.

Analyzes enrollment data to provide results to administration and ensures the Enrollment report is completed and submitted to the US DOE accurately and timely.

Serve as the college's FERPA and Residency officers.

* Interprets and ensures compliance with recordkeeping standards, as well as academic and college policies and procedures, and ensure that all functions of the office are performed according to standards established by AACRAO and to federal and accreditation rules and regulations, especially pursuant to FERPA, FOIA, Veteran's Administration, NCAA regulations, and HIPAA, as it relates to academic records.

Serves as a liaison with accrediting officials, professional organizations, and others outside of the college on matters related to student records.

Provides professional development to faculty and staff on all regulations annually.

* Formulates, seeks approval for, administers, and interprets academic policies/procedures/regulations to faculty, instructional staff, students, parents, and the external public as appropriate.

Prepares and distributes degree audits for review by the academic deans and faculty annually.

* Plans the program for all academic convocations, including chairing the Commencement Team.

* Assists with training new Admissions staff members on the NSLDS system, and the review and input of transcripts for prospective students.

* Serves on institutional committees; attend professional development activities; attend SCTCS peer group meetings.

Minimum and Additional Requirements Bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.

Preferred: Master's degree.

Valid driver's license is required.

Strong problem solver; ability to manage complex and highly sensitive materials to foster a culture of confidentiality; direct knowledge of, or experience with, FERPA, FOIA, HIPAA as it pertains to academic records, and regional/national and programmatic accreditation; and the ability to collect, analyze, and report data.

Additional Comments May require overnight travel; working evening hours; and working on a computer for long periods of time.
