Preferred Care at Home, a nationwide home care company, is seeking to grow our team of qualified caregivers. We have up to 40 hours per week of assignments available, with new cases becoming available every week. Openings have a flexible start date and a competitive pay structure.

The openings include positions for live-in and overnight assignments, day shifts, evening shifts, night shifts, part-time, and full-time opportunities.

Position Description.

A Caregiver is a non licensed member of the home care team who assists the client with the tasks of daily living. The Administrator or Care Coordinator of Preferred Care at Home supervises Homemaker/Companion services according to the client’s request for services.

Qualifications:

A Caregiver must have a minimum of one year of work experience which is verifiable through references and must complete the agency’s caregiver process (you will learn more about this when we meet).

Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position.

Must exhibit mature, responsible behavior, and understand the need for patient confidentiality.

Must be able to read, write, understand and speak English.

Must be able to follow directions and accurately report to the RN Supervisor any change in the client’s condition.

Must have available reliable transportation to and from assignments.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

Planning and preparing meals according to the specific dietary requirements of the client.

Maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment through light housekeeping including changing bed linens, dusting and vacuuming, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, and laundry.

Providing companionship and stimulation for the client including reading, walks, etc.; and accompanying the client to doctors or other appointments.

Grocery shopping or other errands when needed.

Performing other housekeeping tasks as indicated in the care plan.

Participating in in service education programs.

Feels rewarded for improving people's quality of life.
