Summary

Our client is is a leading application Engineering Consulting firm in the Washington, D.C. metro region specializing in Management Services, Technology Solutions and Facilities Services. They partner with and assist Federal, State and local government agencies; private sector Energy Services Companies (ESCOs); and Commercial entities in the design and implementation of their various Engineering and Technology related projects. Additionally, they are able to leverage an engineering team with proven technology industry experience that resulted in multi-million-dollar contracts within federal government, state & local government clients!

Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Developer responsible for the creation, modification, and testing of SQL and Java code within Oracle databases. This role demands a seasoned developer with a robust background in Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server development, alongside skills in data analysis and data modeling. The candidate will also be integral in building interfaces between business applications and must excel in communicating with both business users and developers.

Develop, test, and implement code changes within Oracle databases using PL/SQL and Java

Analyze data requirements and develop appropriate data models to support business needs

Provide backend support for applications, focusing on Oracle PL/SQL and MS SQL server development

Build and maintain interfaces between various business applications

Participate actively in Agile/Scrum development processes

Communicate effectively with business users and developers to gather requirements and explain complex technical concepts

Maintain and extend existing PL/SQL code for data conversion, system enhancements, report production, and transaction improvement

Requirements

10 years of experience working with Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server Database

10 years of strong written and oral communication skills

8 years of experience in data integration between business systems

8 years of experience writing and maintaining/extending PL/SQL code for various database functions

8 years of requirements analysis and data modeling experience

Preferred Requirements

Experience working in Agile/Scrum process environments is highly desired

Minimum of 6 years of experience with other data integration tools and techniques, including IBM DataStage, web services, messaging, and other modern data warehousing technologies is a nice to have
