Principal Professional Services Consultant

What's the role?

The Principal Consultant reports to the Oceania Professional Services Delivery Lead and is a customer facing, hands-on, consulting / software engineering role responsible for design, development and testing of software solutions, delivering technical implementations, and/or integrating HERE products and solution in customer production systems. In this role, you will be able to own the technical and consulting elements of a professional services engagement through the entire lifecycle, from scoping to implementation.

Your main responsibilities include:

Interacting with customers and understanding business problems that our customers encounter.

Analyzing customer problem statements and project requirements described by the solution architects, solution engineers and engagement manager.

Designing developing and testing software solutions based on the requirement analysis.

Generating project artifacts including architecture diagrams, flow charts, specification documents and release notes.

Participating in peer code reviews and other internal technical review processes as required for each project.

Acting as a key liaison with Solution Architects, Solution Engineers and Product teams for the technical aspects of the delivery.

Managing the transition of the initial delivery to the support team responsible for maintenance & support of the solution.

Supporting and working closely with the customer, Delivery/ Engagement Managers, fellow delivery engineers and external consultants to successfully implement project deliverables.

Assisting in identifying recurring requirements, and opportunities to expand solution engineering capabilities.

Who are you?

You are a strong candidate for this role if you possess the followings skills, competencies, and experience:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields.

8+ years of total experience with at least 5 years of experience in consulting / software development, preferably in a Engineering/Technical Professional Services / Consulting organization, implementing complex technology solutions remotely or on client / customer site.

Customer facing skills including Consulting with customers / planning and hosting workshops to identify business problems and solutions to these problems.

Validated track record and experience with software engineering (design and coding), analysis and implementation skills (in customer facing roles).

Programming skills in Core Java, J2EE Perl, Bash, Python Rest Frameworks Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Drop Wizard, Scala or Maven is nice to have

Proficient with server side technologies - Python, JAVA Spring, Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes.Experience in Mobile application development (iOS, Android, Flutter etc)

Continuous integration/Continuous delivery environment (GitLab, Jenkins) experience.

Geospatial skills are nice to have

Ability to work in Australia without work authorisation support preferred.
