Job Description

The purpose of the Supported Employment and education Specialist (SEE) is to help clients in the NAVIGATE Program achieve goals related to improved role functioning by focusing on their return to school or supportive/competitive employment. SEE principles include zero exclusion, focus on competitive work in integrated community settings, rapid job search, attention to client preferences, and the provision of follow-along support after starting school or a job.

This is an in-person position in Delray Beach, FL.

MINIIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from an accredited US college or university

1-year of experience in mental healthPREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or in a related field, from an accredited college or university

2 years of experience with adult and/or adolescent mental health populationKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Business/Supervisory (Management principles, regulations, laws, funding, budgeting, etc.)

Familiar with the Baker Act and Marchman Act.

Demonstrate the ability to interpret and abide by confidentiality laws, abuse reporting guidelines and client rights requirements and abide by a code of ethical and practice standards.Medical/Mental Health (Counseling, case management, client care, psychiatric, nursing, etc.)

Intermediate to advanced counseling skillsWritten & Verbal Communications (Forms completed, letters composed, policies developed; exchange of information, counseling, etc.)

Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Be capable of working with others as part of a teamFunctional, Specialized, & Technical (Office skills, PC, typing, programming, bookkeeping, accounting, claims processing, maintenance, etc.)

Excellent organizational and time management skillsAnalytical & Problem Solving (Research, analysis, calculations, decisions or recommendations made)

Ability to do job development and educate clients on educational and vocational options.

Familiarity with assessing and managing suicide risk.

Experience with reaching out to and connecting with community resources.

Possess skills in assessment and treatment planning.RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT/EDUCATION

Conduct a comprehensive vocational and educational assessment to identify clients’ needs and goals.

Assist clients in obtaining jobs and/or enroll in educational programs.

Teach clients skills relating to career development, job retention, and academic success.

Provide advocacy and follow along supports for clients who are employed or in school to help them be successful.

Provide outreach in the community for job development and educational opportunities.RECORD KEEPING & OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

Maintain records including progress notes and routine assessments in a timely manner in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform.

Participate in the collaborative treatment planning process.

Participate in weekly team meetings.

Receive monthly individual program supervision for one hour provided by the Director.

Participate in the Staff Development programs provided by the agency.

Performs all other duties as assigned
