Structural Engineer

Role Overview:

These roles are working with the M&S Consulting client as either a full-time salaried role or a contract to hire role. The client is building a large facility that is slated to be a 3-4 year project.

Role: Structural Engineer: Need 6-8 people.

Responsibilities:

Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and design analysis

Collaborate with architects, other engineering disciplines, and design-build contractors on the design and construction of projects

Communicate with clients on the status or progress of projects

Direct other internal team members such as drafting personnel

Perform construction-related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized structural inspections

Due to the collaborative nature of coordination for large design-building projects, candidates must have the ability to communicate and resolve issues with other project team members

Must be able to maintain a positive team attitude and interpersonal effectiveness to develop and maintain an efficient and productive structural team

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET- accredited program

5-15 years of technical experience in structural design engineering

Technically competent in structural engineering design in concrete and structural steel

Proven experience producing structural designs, including detailed plans and specifications for major projects

Experience in three-dimensional or finite-element structural design software packages such as STAAD, TSD, Bentley RAM, or other programs commonly used in the design industry.

Preferred Skills:

PE Registration is preferred but not required

Working knowledge of Revit and Autodesk BIM360 environment

Industrial or manufacturing facility structural engineering experience

Working with a multi-disciplinary team comprised of architects, structural, process mechanical, electrical, and Instrumentation and control disciplines

Structural experience in Mass or Heavy Timber design

Working knowledge or use of:

Trimble’s Tekla Structural Design (TSD) software package

Autodesk’s ROBOT software package
