Job Summary:

The Activities Director at Ocean Place Resort & Spa is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all recreational activities and events for guests at our resort in Long Branch, New Jersey. This is a full-time, hourly position in the hospitality/restaurant industry. As an individual contributor, the Activities Director will report directly to the Resort Manager and work closely with other departments to provide a memorable and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly activities, events, and programs for guests of all ages and interests.

2. Create and distribute a monthly activities calendar to guests and resort staff.

3. Collaborate with other departments, such as food and beverage and guest services, to ensure activities and events run smoothly.

4. Coordinate and manage all equipment and supplies needed for activities and events.

5. Recruit, train, and supervise a team of activity assistants.

6. Communicate with guests to gather feedback and suggestions for future activities and events.

7. Maintain a budget and track expenses for activities and events.

8. Ensure all activities and events are in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards.

9. Plan and execute seasonal and holiday events and promotions.

10. Keep up-to-date with current local events and attractions to incorporate into the activities program.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Previous experience in event planning, recreation, or hospitality preferred.

3. Strong organizational and time management skills.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and remain calm under pressure.

6. Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

7. Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 30 pounds.

8. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

9. Must have a passion for providing exceptional customer service.

10. Must have a valid driver's license.
