Help Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * Possess and maintain a current, active, valid, and unrestricted license as a registered nurse and APRN or APRN as required by the state issuing the license. * Possess and maintain a National Board Certification as a Family, Adult, Adult-Gero, Adult-Gero Acute Care or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. * Possess and maintain current certifications/licensure in a state, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. * May be required to work on Saturdays and/or shift work (work before 0600 or after 1800 hours). * Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. * May require up to 90% temporary duty travel to other MEPS to cover staffing shortages. * This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. * Credentialing will be required. * Successful completion of applicable Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training is required in order to access the MHS GENESIS System within 30 days of on-boarding and/or as required. * Public Law 101-647, Section 321 and Public Law 102-190, Section 1094 require the successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check to maintain the position for which hired. * This position requires a National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI). * Must be able to pass a color perception (vision) examination. * Pre-Employment physical is required. Basic Requirements for Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner): Education: A graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by the position. (Areas of specialties for positions include, but are not limited to, Acute Care, Anesthesia, Community Health, Family, Geriatric, Home Health, Midwifery, Neonatal, Oncology, Pediatric, Psychiatric, Allergy and Immunology, Women's Health, Cardiovascular, Dermatology, Occupational Health, Orthopedic, Respiratory, or other specialties identified for the position.) This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Foreign Degree: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
