Scrum Master
Location: Bolingbrook, IL
Setting: Hybrid
Contract: 12 months+
YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY: Agile Leadership
Operate as a team-based servant leader with Lean-Agile mindset
Help the team to adopt and practice Agile core values, principles and implement Agile practices
Ensure the team follows the agreed team rules on agile processes
Team Leadership and Coaching:
Help the team to focus on achieving daily and iteration goals of the current program increment
Facilitate team events or ceremonies including daily stand-up, iteration/sprint planning, sprint review, retrospective, demos and backlog refinements
Help and guide the team in creating normalized estimates on features and stories
Identify impediments and cross-team dependencies and support the team in eliminating and addressing the issues and distractions
Assist the team in preparations for PI planning, system demos and retrospectives, etc.
Represent the team in Scrum of Scrums and help the team to continuously improve program effectiveness
Support ensuring alignment with product owners to manage backlog relative to strategic priorities while managing team dynamics
Establish clear agile performance metrics such as quality, flow, predictability and velocity, and lead team’s efforts to improve performance
ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, CIS, MIS or equivalent. Master’s degree a plus
5+ years of experience working on Agile teams including as Scrum Master in a complex and fast-paced environment
Relevant certification in Scrum (e.g., CSM) and/or Scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe)
In depth Knowledge of Agile principles and various agile frameworks such as Lean, Kanban, SAFe, XP
Experience in eCommerce and supporting functions including omni-channel and personalization
Retail industry experience is a plus
Excellent ability to mentor and coach Agile teams with servant leadership principles
Effective communication and facilitation skills within and across teams
Ability to learn and implement evolving lean and agile processes, tools and tactics
Experience with modern Agile tools such as JIRA.
Working knowledge of system and software SDLC and PMO leading practices
Highest level of integrity and good judgment
Minimal travel required (training/conferences)
