Responsibilities

Run a daily route to resolve customer pest concerns and issues, which may include inspecting and identifying pests, recommending appropriate treatments, and addressing customer questions and concerns.

Maintain the company truck and equipment in proper working order, performing routine maintenance and reporting any issues to the supervisor for prompt repair.

Keep accurate and detailed records of treatments provided, documenting the type and quantity of pesticides used, the areas treated, and any special customer instructions or concerns. Ensure that all records comply with industry regulations.

Collect payments for services rendered, providing clear and professional invoices or receipts to customers, and following the company's payment collection procedures.

Mix, apply, and work with pesticides in strict accordance with state and federal laws, safety regulations, and company guidelines. This includes the proper storage and disposal of chemicals, the use of personal protective equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Communicate effectively with customers, offering guidance on preparing for treatments and explaining post-treatment care and preventive measures.

Provide expert knowledge and advice on pest control, recommending long-term solutions and preventive strategies to customers.

Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, new treatment methods, and emerging pests, attending training sessions and workshops as required.

Respond to emergency pest control situations promptly and effectively, including after-hours calls or special requests.

Collaborate with the team to share insights, and best practices, and coordinate service routes for maximum efficiency.

Safeguard the environment and public health while performing pest control services, and report any incidents or accidents involving pesticides promptly to the appropriate authorities and company management.

Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to company policies and ethical standards at all times.

Represent the company positively in interactions with customers and the public, enhancing the company's reputation and fostering customer loyalty.

Job requirements

State-issued pest control license or certification, if required by the local regulatory authorities

Proven experience in the pest control industry, preferably 1-2 years

Strong knowledge of common pests, their behaviors, and effective treatment methods

Familiarity with state and federal laws and regulations governing pesticide application and pest control practices

Ability to safely mix, apply, and handle pesticides in accordance with established safety procedures and industry best practices

Good communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues

Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills for assessing and addressing pest issues

Basic math skills for calculating chemical measurements and invoices

A valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Attention to detail in record-keeping, including treatment documentation and customer interactions

Customer service-oriented approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and exceeding customer expectations

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and respond to emergency calls

Strong ethical and safety standards, including the ability to adhere to company and industry safety protocols

Ability to handle and transport pest control equipment and chemicals safely

Willingness to stay current with industry trends and complete required training and certifications

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
