Salary: $70,500 plus 11% superannuation

Our client Seno Engineering (Australia) Pty Ltd is independently owned engineering consultancy and mechanical service provider, specialised in delivering end-to-end Engineering Design, Construction Management and Mechanical services in building, wastewater, FMCG, food & beverage manufacturing.

Seno offers range of turn-key solutions/services from concept planning to bespoke equipment design and build. The client has capability to deliver project on EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Management) basis and has a massive fully equipped fabrication workshop with machine shop to support in house fabrications including capabilities such a CNC & waterjet cutting.

The client is looking for full-time permanent positions for skilled and experienced Welder (First Class) to join this highly skilled and innovative team. The client requires a professional and experienced Welder to perform welding work and the preferred candidates will have relevant previous experience as trade qualified welders and ideally have previously worked in engineering/manufacturing businesses.

You will be capable of reading and interpretating engineering drawings and fabricating to the dimensions and shapes that are detailed. You will liaise with the design engineers during fabrication detailing to ensure the items are capable of efficient manufacture.

The job requires you to be physically fit and be able to work towards daily production targets. There is a great opportunity here for the right person to show their capabilities and grow. Neat, accurate work and an eye for detail are essential.

This is a full-time position and is available for an immediate start. You can work unsupervised, as well as in a workshop environment and in a safe manner. You will be able to prioritise jobs, self-motivate, work independently and as a team.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or at least 3 years work experience

• Experience with Structural and mechanical works including steelworks and plate works

• MIG and TIG welding of steel and stainless steel

• Pressure welding

In this role your main responsibilities include:

· Welding and processing of mild steel, stainless and aluminium as well as doing fabrication as required

· Work from drawings/sketches, to fabricate steel products

· Create quality welds according to blueprints

· Fabrication of steel products according to the plans and instructions provided

· Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel parts

· Use measuring instruments to accurately align material

· Inspect welds for accuracy

· Perform key measurements and visual checks

· Examine welds for width of bead, penetration and precision

· Dress finished products by cleaning, polishing and filing

· De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture

· Follow, create and help maintain Welding Procedure Specifications

· Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use

· Assemble items as instructed by floor supervisor

· Troubleshoot broken areas

· Follow all safety rules and quality standards

· Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency

To be considered for this role you must have;

· Structural welding and fabrication experience

· A solid technical and mechanical aptitude

· Ability to read and interpret drawings

· Strict compliance with company policies and procedures

· Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements

· Able to work unsupervised.

· Good hand-eye coordination

· Physical and mental endurance

· Excellent fabrication and welding skills

· Understanding of Workplace health and safety procedures

Schedule:

· 8 hour shift
