Schlam is looking for Boilermaker and welder, and have vacancies around Western Australia, in metro and regionally.
PURPOSE :The purpose of this position is to apply the skills, competency andexperience of a qualifi ed Mobile Plant Boilermaker and welder to a range of tasksas allocated by the supervisors including welding fabrication services,shutdown services, MARC contractor shift services and generalmaintenance of mobile equipment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work Productivity
Adhere to set break intervals
Ability to meet schedules & delivery times
Plan work to ensure all equipment, Tooling & consumablesare accounted for prior to commencing tasks
Complete time sheets ensuring job number and taskidentifi cation is accurate for time reporting
Quality
Understand Inspection Test Plans (ITP); Understand Work Orders, Project Gantts & General Scope ofworks
Advise supervisor when work has reached hold points forinspection
All completed welds must comply with relevant qualifi ed weldprocedures provided. To include machine set up, weld profi le, inter pass temperatures and preheat requirements
Record welder identifi cation number on all areas welded
Ensure pre, intermediate & post work photos are taken whenrequested by Supervisor
Ensure all Fabrication work that is completed is withinallowable tolerances equipment
Ensure minimum Schlam personal tooling requirements areadhered to
Pre-Start checks are mandatory on all operating equipmentprior to commencing
Report any equipment problems immediately to a Supervisor& follow correct tagging procedure
Report any equipment shortfalls & additional requirements toSchlam Manager
Ensure all equipment requiring fuel has been replenishedafter job completion prior to leaving site.
Safety
Attend prestart meetings prior to start of shift
Adhering to the Safety Management System, by ensuringcompany compliance throughout all work activities
Work area is always kept clean & tidy
Fill out relevant site paperwork I.E JHA, CCC, Take 5 etc. Toclient’s requirements
Complete min 1 safe checks per day
Follow Safe work procedures (SWP); Perform workshop inspections as allocated
Report hazards, near misses and incidents immediately toyour supervisor/manager.
QUALIFICATIONS -

Essential Qualifi cations, Licences and VOC
TradeCertifi cation – Certifi cate III in Engineering Heavy Fabrication
AS1554.5 – AS1554.4 welding test in 3G & 4G positions –MMAW & FCAW Minimum “MR’ class drivers’ licence
Forklift Licence EWP Licence Intermediate Riggers Licence Doging Licence Working at Heights Licence Confined spaces Licence Competencies
Pre-employment weld testing
Pre-employment Air Arc Gouge testing
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Technical knowledge of MobilePlant repair process
Understanding of Mobile equipment isolation points
Experience & knowledge in the use of generator welders &associated wire feeders
Experience & knowledge of setup & operation of Thermal ArcLancing process Experience & knowledge of setup & use of inner shield &outer shield welding process
Experience within the Engineering and Resource sector.
