TYPE: full-time

SALARY: $70,000 per annum

JOB DESCRIPTION:

JSH Automotive is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Garbutt, QLD. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Diagnostic Skills: Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle components.

Repair and Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and brake adjustments, as well as major repairs, including engine overhauls and transmission rebuilds.

Electrical Systems: Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, starters, alternators, and lighting.

Fuel Systems: Inspect, repair, and calibrate fuel injection systems, pumps, and injectors.

Hydraulic Systems: Maintain and repair hydraulic systems commonly found in diesel-powered equipment.

Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.

Documentation: Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed on vehicles and equipment.

Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers to understand their concerns and provide updates on repair progress.

Teamwork: Collaborate with other mechanics and staff to efficiently complete tasks and meet deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS:

Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.

Minimumm AQF Certificate III relevant trade qualification/certification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent.

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a similar automotive or heavy equipment environment.

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, as well as knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.

Ability to identify and address problems with precision and accuracy.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.

Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures at all times.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
