Purpose of the Job

Ensure that all software developments in their domain / site / region are aligned with the organization's software strategy and roadmap.

Act as technical authority in their domain / site (for example, embedded software development, Linux software development, Windows software development…)

Main Responsibilities

Contribute to the definition of the organization’s software strategy and roadmap.

Ensure the deployment of the organization’s software strategy and roadmap in the software systems in their scope and domain.

Report on the progress of the deployment of the organization’s software strategy and roadmap.

Ensure the architectural, technological, and technical consistency in the software systems in their scope and domain.

Demonstrate that the design and architecture of the software system in their scope align with the business goals.

Mentor the software architect team and provide technical leadership.

Develop and lead continuous improvement and best practices to ensure software engineering efficiency and effectiveness.

Chair the design reviews of the software in their scope.

Technically coordinates task forces and ensures appropriate return of experience is done.

Support sourcing and tenders on software topics

Keep informed of the evolution of technologies through techno watch.

Collaborate with the universities, technology forums, standard committees.

Experience :

Mandatory

Strong experience in mission critical software architecture design and development

Desirable

Strong Railway Industry knowledge with operational background.

Full software engineering development lifecyle view

Competencies and Skills

Deep understanding of software architecture principles, models, and methodologies.

Good understanding of software development processes, methods, and tools

Strong technical leadership with proven hands-on in coding, configuration, and deployment

Effective stakeholder and vendor relationship management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to solve complex software design and architecture issues.

Excellent verbal English communication skills in international environment and transverse engineering

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Good written English communication skills.

Ability to work with other engineering teams.

Ability to work with remote collaborators.

Good teaching capacity.
