Are you a Menswear Designer with graphic skills, who wants to be a part of our growing company?
As a Trainee Designer at Primark, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Design and Buying teams in researching and designing commercial ranges, including trend, colour, graphic and shape direction. Working closely with the buyers and designers, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to learn about the industry and progress in a design role.

What we’re looking for
Someone who is passionate about menswear, preferably having both clothing and graphic skills, and experience.
The right person will have a commercial yet forward thinking eye and a pro-active attitude to help drive our ranges forward. Supporting the design team in researching and designing commercial Menswear ranges, including trend, colour, graphics and shape direction
Job Function
Trend & Research
Complete daily trend research across multi platforms, delivering trend information to the relevant teams
Adapt latest trends into the Primark handwriting, to ensure a commercial direction for the range
Ensure research also considers new techniques/fabrics and seasonal colour direction
Present ideas with confidence to the design/buying teams.Range Design
Work alongside Design team to create typographically strong original graphics and prints.
Have an awareness and interest in garment shape design and how this can be developed for Primark
Develop an understanding of products and show willingness to work within the brand guidelines of the partners we work withApprovals
Follow design briefs to ensure focus is maintained on the provided direction in the allocated time
Track and manage design/trend amends, ensuring they are communicated to all parties in a timely manner
Prepare design/trend files for presentations/meetings/suppliers.
Responsible for design team colour/trend/product admin.
