In the role of the Electromechanical Design Engineer, you will perform the following:Summary
Working with minimal input, conceive, design, test and transfer to production new mechanical and electro-mechanical products. Provide support to production, vendors, our sales force and customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Machine design
Conceptual – Create and sketch from ideas or design parameters
Engineering – Calculate safe and robust designs
Design components and assemblies
Build and test prototypes, log results
Create Bills of material
Drafting
Computer
Hand
Manuals
Production Support
Troubleshoot
Design and make production fixtures and machinery
Assist repair department
Vendors
Locate
Set-up files
Aid in initial procurement
Visit/Audit vendors
Quality Control
Inspect incoming parts
Assign actions
Follow company procedures and standards.
Sales Support
Design “non-stock” components and assemblies
Assist sales staff
Perform field demonstrations
Answer technical questionsAdditional TasksResponsible for executing additional tasks related to the position as needed or as assigned.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Qualifications
Able to design on a CAD system (SolidWorks/AutoCAD)
Perform complex engineering calculations
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills
Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
Enjoy working with hands
Be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Use basic hand tools and measuring implements
Strong 2D drafting skills
Basic understanding of GD&T and Stack Analysis
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
3+ years of experience as a design engineer of an industrial equipment manufacturing company
Ability to manage multiple projects and multi-task
Commitment to innovation and problem-solving, “roll up the sleeve” approach
