Job Description
We are looking for a full-time real estate accountant to join our expanding team! You'll be responsible for keeping our financial records organized, including tracking accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring that each account is reconciled correctly. $46,000 - $55,000Responsibilities:
Facilitate all incoming payments and outgoing checks, including printing, obtaining signatures for, and distributing checks as necessary
Produce regular journal entries to post to the general ledger
Handle all accounts payable and receivable on a daily basis to make sure each invoice and expense report is accurate
Adapt to the needs of the real estate team to complete other accounting tasks when necessary
Enter financial data into computer software, making sure all bills and invoices are filed correctlyQualifications:
High school diploma required, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is highly valued
Experience in real estate industry preferred
Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software such as Quickbooks
Must have Real Estate Accounting Experience (Property Management Accounting, Rentals, etc.)
The position requires 3 or more years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Proficiency in personal computer skills, keyboard, Internet search, email correspondence, math, Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc., and other software applications preferred (i.e.Quickbooks, Appfolio)
Effective communication and interaction with the management team, military partners, co-workers, vendors, or residents; sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and complete assigned duties to ensure operational objectives are achieved
Must possess a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions, under all circumstances
Working with rental portfolios for at least 5 years is strongly preferred
Ability to travel to other local office locations for work, training, meetings, and other work-related activities
Experience in accounting, real estate accounting, or property accounting preferred

Must live on the Southside of Hampton Roads, have dependable transportation, willing to put in the hours to start. Must have a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, or construction. Must be able to work a half day every other SaturdayAbout Company
