POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This individual assists the Director of Admission in the oversight of the admissions processes, procedures, and recruitment efforts for the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM). The Assistant Director of Admissions will need excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills to successfully work with a variety of individuals and organizations.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the COM-approved policies and ensure that they are adhered to throughout the admissions process.

Work with the Admissions Committee to support their review of the applications and the decisions of each applicant.

Coordinates with our The Community Solution colleagues when necessary to ensure that communication and departmental goals are aligned.

Facilitates the transfer of information to KHSC-KansasCOM departments including keeping the Director of Admissions apprised of goals and progress towards those goals.

Assist in supporting the Admissions Event Coordinator to facilitate the execution of interview days, KansasCOM visits and tours, and other admissions related events.

Plays an important role in scheduling of operations, including meeting goals, meeting timetables, assuring deadlines and general obligations are met, monitoring activity, checking progress, making appropriate adjustments.

Supports the department in the selection and maintenance of marketing-related materials and promotional items as needed to recruit.

Assists in responding to prospective student inquiries and needs including answering questions, monitoring distribution of forms, and providing information.

Embodies a team focused spirit and a commitment to collaboration.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills required to communicate key KHSC-KansasCOM messages to prospective students and parents.

· Interested candidates should be able to balance multiple projects and priorities, while managing deadlines, with a focus on positive results.

· Analytical abilities required to assess situations and determine the best method of dealing with such issues based on KHSC policies.

QUALIFICATION(S):

Bachelor’s degree required.

3-5 years of experience working in a professional environment.

Understanding of processes and how to lead on process specific projects.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Ability to travel to medical school related recruitment fairs and national conferences.
