Cloud Architect

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the AWS Cloud Architect will include but are not limited to the following:

• Identify and evaluate customer business requirements, goals, and objectives for cloud solutions.

• Design scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions that align with industry standards and best practices.

• Produce architecture documentation that serves as a reference to customers

• Act as a representative of the technical team by presenting and articulating complex technical concepts and solutions to clients in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of cloud technologies, trends, and best practices to provide expert advice to clients and stakeholders

• Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams, including other architects, DevOps Professionals, and operations staff.

• Define and enforce cloud governance policies, standards, and processes to ensure compliance and security.

• Collaborate with DevOps Professionals and Technical Leads to ensure that they understand and are able to deploy the target cloud architecture.

• Collaborate with architects from the cloud provider to ensure the latest best practices are applied in deliverables produced.

• Participate in and contribute to the Architecture Review Board (ARB) technical discussions, solution reviews, and documentation.

• Collaborate with other architects, project managers, and delivery managers to ensure successful delivery of cloud projects.

• Provide technical expertise, advice and effort estimation to sales and presales teams to help shape proposals and solutions that meet the client’s needs.

• Participate in proof of concept and pilot projects to validate proposed solutions and demonstrate value.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

· Minimum of 6 years of experience in medium to large enterprise size cloud and virtualization environments, with at least 3 of those years as a cloud architect

· Ability to translate architectural requirements into implementation details;

· Ability to develop effective processes, documentation and knowledge sharing with both colleagues and clients;

· Strong communication, collaboration, peer, client and partner support skills;

· Exceptional problem solving skills;

· Passionate about the cloud, persuasive and able to quickly establish interest and credibility in the design, deployment and operation of cloud-based architectures;

· Detail and results oriented, organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;

· Ability to be decisive, provide firm and clear perspectives with confidence while remaining flexible;

· Positive and professional attitude.

· Bilingual (oral, written) in English and French;

Here are some specifications about the technical skills we are looking for:

· Expertise in native (Cloud) services;

· Excellent knowledge of cloud components and infrastructure (server, storage, network, data and applications) to provide end-to-end cloud infrastructure architectures and designs;

· Experience with cloud migrations;

· Experience with designing modern application architectures (microservices, containers, serverless, event-driven, etc.);

· Experience with infrastructure as code and continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD);

· Strong understanding of application, server and network security and compliance requirements;

· Experience in design for high availability and disaster recovery;

· Broad understanding of system components and their interactions;

· Experience with enterprise data center applications, solutions and infrastructure;

· AWS certification.

· Asset - Knowledge of Agile (Scrum) methodology for delivery management;
