Position Overview

Join Stallion Express as a vital team member in the role of Finance and Payroll Specialist. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring smooth payroll operations and financial processes. From managing accounts receivable and payable to guaranteeing compliance with tax regulations, you will play a pivotal role in accurate payroll processing, ensuring adherence to federal and provincial regulations.

Responsibilities:

Manage accounts receivable processes, including customer invoicing, monitoring payment schedules, and addressing overdue accounts

Manage accounts payable activities, process supplier invoices, ensure timely payments, and nurture vendor relationships

Monitor cash flow related to accounts receivable and payable to maintain healthy cash flow

Generate regular reports on AR and AP status, including aging reports, cash flow projections, and other relevant metrics

Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing accounts receivable and payable, including tax regulations

Overseeing accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees

Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll laws and regulations, including tax withholding, reporting, and filing requirements

Prepare provincial worker's compensation returns as required for Ontario, British Columbia, and Quebec

Compiling year-end requirements, including processing and reporting for T4, T4A, taxable benefits, EHT, WSIB and submitting government filings in a timely manner

Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and enhance efficiency

Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, including discrepancies and tax-related queries

Manage the E.O.R platform and process payroll for the U.S. warehouse team based in New York

Qualification:

Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is an asset.

1-3 years of experience post-designation.

Working knowledge of payroll processing, tax principles, wage & hours legislation

Proficiency in managing end-to-end payables and receivables processes

Experience in logistics/shipping and e-commerce industries is advantageous

Experience working with platforms including Plooto, Dext, ADP, and Zoho is preferred.

Knowledge of U.S. payroll procedures and regulations is a plus
