A high-profile individual is seeking a personal assistant/house manager on the Upper East Side. Candidates will work a mix of in-person (both out of the principal’s home and office) and remotely, when viable. The schedule will be 9:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday, though candidates should be available by phone or text after hours and on weekends for last-minute bookings or staff/household issues etc.
Responsibilities
Managing staff (houseman, housekeeper, laundress), sorting through mail, writing checks, receiving packages, managing vendors and troubleshooting repairs and maintenance (both indoor and outdoor), forwarding tax and accounting issues to the principal’s accountant; arranging travel for the principal, managing the principal’s social calendar, managing dinner parties (including engaging caterers, wait staff etc.), and more.
The principal spends July in Nantucket and 6 months (November-April) in Palm Beach. The candidate will be required to maintain the principal’s primary residence in New York, as well as oversee the staff, troubleshoot any issues, and manage the principal’s life as usual, but is likely to have more capacity to work remotely during this time.
There may be occasional travel to Nantucket, Palm Beach, or other domestic and international locations (e.g. Paris, London), so candidates must be passport-ready.
This is a formal home with lots of antiques and art, so candidates should be polished and professional gatekeepers
