A facilities manager is sought to provide management and oversight of the physical plant, grounds, and ongoing construction/facilities projects of an estate in Suffolk County. This role reports directly to the principal and the principal’s chief of staff. Private, self-contained accommodation is available to those candidates who are not within a commutable distance to Suffolk County.
Responsibilities
Maintaining the grounds of the estate to the level required by the principal
Supervising and/or assisting vendors with assigned work.
Regularly check residential property spaces to identify issues with property structure, hardware, plumbing, hvac, mechanical failure or breakdowns.
Perform repairs on company equipment or appliances.
Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Capable of performing minor repairs of plumbing, electrical and safety systems.
Conduct performance assessments of company appliances, such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, ovens and coffee makers, etc.
Provide support and guidance on maintaining equipment.
Manage facilities team
General daily oversight of construction
Liaise with design, architectural and contractor teams to ensure proper execution of principal’s vision
Liaise and source all pertinent vendors to ensure five-star finishes, cutting edge technology and green efficiencies
Liaise with all engineering teams to ensure proper, efficient builds.
Provide daily updates to the principal and principal’s chief of staff
Track progress of all aspects of the project in a project management tool/gantt chart
Review, approve and process invoices
Supervising and/or assisting vendors with assigned work
Relationship management with key vendors associated with the above-mentioned day-to-day facilities and scheduled maintenance services
Create maintenance manuals/schedule/archive for builds once completed
Provide quality control in all aspects of the physical plant.
Qualifications
Engineering/Trade background preferred
Minimum of five to ten years relevant work experience, with construction experience required
Requirements
US passport, Green Card or EAC
Clean and current driving record
Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment.
Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving.
Self-starter and able to see projects from start to finish.
Adaptable demeanor, able to adjust with little notice.
Hyper attention to detail and efficient communication required
Strong capabilities with technology hardware and various software packages
Strong written and oral communication
Ability to read architectural and engineering documents
Strong project management skills
Excellent client relationship skills
Salary and Benefits
