About the Role

This role will be responsible for providing the highest quality nursing care for patients within the Haematology and Oncology unit. Working in a friendly and supportive team environment, you will demonstrate strong clinical knowledge and implement ‘best practice’ clinical skills.

Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 pro rata per annum).

Your Contribution

As an engaged, experienced Registered Nurse, you will bring demonstrated experience in acute nursing to the role. Your strong communication skills will allow you collaborate with staff as well as patients to facilitate improved health outcomes for our patients. Finally, your advanced problem solving and adaptability will see you work effectively within a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated acute nursing experience

Strong communication skills

Enthusiasm and passion

You will also have:

Current AHPRA Registration

Willing to undergo training in administration of antineoplastic drugs (eviQ ADAC)

Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

6 West is a 19 bed unit comprising acute Haematology and Oncology beds. 6 West upholds strong values of providing high quality care to our patients and excellent communication between all health professionals from all disciplines. All staff on 6West are required to actively participate in their own professional development and self-directed learning in order to maintain high quality clinical skills and knowledge.

Our team cares for a diverse range of patients:

With blood cancers such as multiple myeloma, leukaemia and lymphoma

Undergoing stem cell transplants

Undergoing clinical trials for blood cancers

With solid tumours
