In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.

A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

Federal Work Study student may apply.

In good disciplinary standing.

Must be located in the U.S.

who audition at Boston Conservatory recall their audition experience warmly, and they always mention the positive interaction they had with the students who interviewed them post-audition. Voice Audition Interviewers will meet with prospective students after their audition to help them debrief their experience, answer any questions they have about the program they’re auditioning for, and get to know them a little bit. The role of Student Interviewer is vital to our admissions and recruitment process.

Interviewers will be hired to meet with undergraduate applicants as well as grad applicants to the MM Opera, MM Pedagogy, MM Voice Performance and MFA Musical Theater Pedagogy programs. Interviewers will work in pairs in approximately 4-5 hours shifts (morning or afternoon), and work is usually only on weekends, usually on Saturdays between early December and mid-February. Student interviewers must be currently enrolled in the program they are representing.

Must have good interpersonal skills and a strong knowledge of their own program as well as a good sense of student life for a student in their respective degree program. Good communication skills and ability to help applying singers to feel at ease are key to the job. Successful applicants will have the ability to represent Boston Conservatory well and to recruit effectively for their program.

Student Admissions Interviewers get a behind the scenes look at admissions and recruitment and gain a better understanding of the process behind bringing new students into the school. They learn more about their own program and gain insight into the school at large. They learn to work as a team in an interview process and develop strategies for both putting an applicant at ease as well as drawing them into a conversation that is beneficial for all.
