Need a senior Azure cloud infra SME who will be able to drive the below project:

Project Title: Server Migration to Azure and Upgrade

Project Overview:

This project aims to migrate servers and applications hosted by Great West to Azure cloud infrastructure / Co-Location, upgrade the operating systems to align with corporate standards, remediate security vulnerabilities, and document a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) for each migrated resource.

Project Objectives:

1. Migrate servers and applications to Azure cloud infrastructure or Co-location, as needed.

2. Upgrade the operating systems of migrated target servers to the latest supported versions.

3. Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities on all migrated target servers, applications, and databases.

4. Document the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) template for each migrated application service to understand its criticality to the SOCs.

Project Tasks:

1. Preparation Phase:

· Review existing documentation and inventory of servers and applications hosted by Great West Caualty.

· Assess compatibility of applications with Azure cloud environment.

· Identify stakeholders and establish communication channels.

· Allocate resources including personnel, tools, and budget.

· Define project timelines and milestones.

1. Azure Migration Planning:

· Define migration strategy (lift and shift, re-platform, or re-architect) for each application.

· Conduct readiness assessments to evaluate dependencies, network requirements, and data transfer considerations.

· Develop migration runbooks outlining step-by-step procedures for each application.

· Utilize existing Azure subscriptions, networking, and security configurations as per organizational standards.

1. Server and Application Migration:

· Execute migration activities according to the defined migration runbooks.

· Monitor migration progress and address any issues or dependencies.

· Validate functionality and performance of migrated servers and applications in the Azure environment.

· Implement any necessary adjustments or optimizations post-migration.

1. Server OS Upgrade:

· Assess compatibility of migrated servers with target OS versions.

· Develop a rollout plan with phased upgrades to minimize downtime.

· Implement OS upgrades on migrated servers according to the rollout plan.

· Validate functionality and compatibility post-upgrade.

· Document any issues encountered and their resolutions.

1. Security Vulnerability Remediation:

· Conduct a comprehensive security assessment of all migrated servers and applications.

· Prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity and potential impact.

· Develop a remediation plan detailing steps to address identified vulnerabilities.

· Implement security patches, updates, and configuration changes as per the remediation plan.

· Perform post-remediation testing to ensure vulnerabilities are successfully mitigated.

1. Business Impact Analysis (BIA):

· Use existing BIA template for assessing the business impact of migrated resources.

· Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather information on the importance of each migrated resource to business operations.

· Assess the potential impact of resource downtime on revenue, productivity, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

· Document BIA findings for each migrated application service, including criticality rating and recommended recovery strategies, as needed.

1. Documentation and Reporting:

· Maintain detailed records of all migration activities in Smartsheet, OS upgrades, security remediation efforts, and BIA assessments.

· Generate reports summarizing project progress, key findings, and any outstanding issues.

· Communicate updates to stakeholders regularly through status meetings and written reports.

Project Deliverables:

1. Completed migration documentation for all servers and applications.

2. Upgraded OS documentation for migrated servers.

3. Security vulnerability assessment report and remediation documentation for migrated resources.

4. Business Impact Analysis reports for each migrated resource.

5. Project status reports and updates for stakeholders.

Experience: 5-8 years

Notice period: Immediate- 30days(More than 30days NP not acceptable)
