Role Description
We are looking for a Senior Engineer Factory Controls & Robotics for a full-time, on-site position in Coimbatore. You will be working on projects for US clients.
As a Senior Engineer Factory Controls & Robotics, you will be responsible for:
Designing, developing, integrating, verifying offine robotic weld systems
Designing, developing, integrating, verifying offine automated machining systems
Designing, developing, integrating, verifying offine automated material handling systems
Designing, developing PLC based controls systems for manufacturing processes
Conducting Manufacturing Design and Industrial Engineering activities for new and current products
Leading projects and working with clients to manage work and delivery
Applying expert knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Process Planning, PFMEA, Control Plan, DFMA, Facilities Layout, Line Design, Standardized Work, Factory & Process Automation, Sequence of Events development, Mixed Model Line Design, Digital Manufacturing, Factory Automation - Robotics, PLCs, Tool and Fixture Design
Training others when required
Performing other activities as needed
Qualifications
To qualify for this role, you should have:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Automobile or Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering or related field
4+ to 7+ years of experience in factory automation using assembly, weld and material handling robots and plc based control systems
Good offline programming skills
Excellent working knowledge with CAD/CAM software, robotics, automation, and process simulation tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including operations, supply chain, and quality teams
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies is preferred.
Solid Works or related CAD software experience is a must.
Knowledge of offline robot programming and robotic manufacturing design a must
