As a Firmware Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for validating firmware modules on both pre-silicon and Silicon platforms for embedded systems, developing tools for test automation and automate build and test execution. You will interact with Systems, Architecture, FW development, SoC Design and Verification teams to optimize the software components.

Primary responsibilities:

Develop test cases and test Frame work to validate the firmware deliverables for code quality, coverage and defects with test traceability.

Build and tests automation with continuous integration via Jenkins to enable build and test reports, Static analysis/dynamic analysis of code

Can debug device drivers, applications and validation platforms to enable automation.

Analyzes and writes test and procedures for the components developed.

Develop test automation software and test scripts, performing Test optimization for execution time and coverage.

Minimum requirements:

1+ years industry experience in firmware build and validation on embedded devices.

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in EE .

Skills needed:

Experience with programming languages such as C/C++ and Python.

Concept of Continuous Integration using Jenkins and GIT.

Developing unit tests for code validation, coverage and quality.

Development of automated Test case development with host-based tools like Python, Shell and TCL and methods to optimize SW testing activities through automation

Troubleshoot and root cause complex problems, setting up of firmware release process and regressions.

Maintenance of Test cases, plans, procedures and results in test link.

Host based Tool development with Python to enable Test automation

Utilization of defect tracking tools to report validation status and product quality.

Requirement Understanding and Writing Test Specification on different ASIL level

Familiarity with software tools which is used to configure SW, Drivers and application
