Construction Project Manager
A leading Design-Build Construction company is seeking a Site Manager to coordinate and lead their field team. Manager Qualifications:
The primary role of the Project Manager is to manage his/her assigned projects including overseeing all field operations, schedule/productivity, site safety, and quality of work.
Assist in the development of estimates
CAD drafting
Participate in the pre-construction/job start-up process including development of the baseline schedule and site utilization plans
Management and planning of all Subcontractor scopes of work to ensure a quality product and timely delivery
Lead foreman’s meetings, resolve day to day field issues
Management of laborers, carpenters and field operations staff etc.
Communicate and enforce company’s safety program and all applicable OSHA standards; manage job-site housekeeping/cleanliness
Communicate and enforce quality standards with subcontractors and vendors
Create and manage project schedules, develop look-ahead schedules for planning purposes, and produce monthly updates for the project team.
Coordinate with utility service providers and city/local jurisdiction officials
Prepare accurate daily reports with progress photos documenting work activities and labor totals
Review shop drawings and coordinate work in place, prepare in-situ mock-ups in accordance with the project requirement, draft RFIs when conflicts arise
Manage all site logistics
Coordinate material tracking with staff and subcontractors/vendors
Schedule and participate in all material testing, code compliance, and other quality control inspections; communicate non-compliant items with appropriate parties and take lead with required remedial work
Ability to commute to multiple job sites throughout DC and DMV
Authorized to work in the United States
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or relevant field; equivalent experience will be considered. Internships available.
5 or more years’ experience in the construction industry (preferably in multi-family and commercial) with 2 or more years’ experience as an Assistant manager or manager preferred. Internships available.
Experience with projects of at least $1M preferred
Demonstrable ability to lead construction projects in various phases concurrently.
OSHA 30 & First Aid/CPR/AED certified recommended
Action oriented leader, organized, good time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills; preferably English and Spanish
Basic computer skills required (email, Microsoft Office) with scheduling software experience (Primavera or MS Project)
Experience with AutoCAD and SketchUp software
Ability to build positive relationships with peers, subcontractors, clients, design consultants, etc
Expert ability to manage project timelines and budgets
Honest and hard-working individual with a team-oriented attitude
