Medical Billing Specialist

Job Description

We are in search of a skilled Medical Billing Specialist for a role based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. This role involves playing a key part in our team, working on tasks related to medical billing in the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the processing of patient and insurance claims

• Verify the accuracy of billing data and revise any errors

• Review and retain patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information

• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe

• Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount

• Use Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze billing data

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure all billing is handled in a timely manner

• Resolve customer queries and issues relating to billing

• Assist in the implementation of billing best practices to improve efficiency

• Stay updated on current best practices, regulations, and trends in medical billing processes.

• 1+ year experience in the role of a Medical Billing Specialist

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Demonstrated experience in Medical Billing is a must

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in entering medical codes and other billing information

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Familiarity with medical terminology and ICD-10 coding

• Proficient in using medical software and electronic health records

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; a certificate in Medical Billing is preferred

• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development as required.
