Summary

The Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and auditing sales commission calculations on a monthly cycle by identifying the eligible lot population and collecting sales data through multiple systems and manual processes. This role will analyze expenses to identify trends that would impact reporting, process, and operational issues.

Essential Functions

Prepare, analyze and audit sales commission calculations on a monthly cycle by identifying the eligible lot population and collecting sales data through multiple systems and manual processes.

Analyze commission expenses by employee and design studio to identify positive or negative trends that would indicate reporting, process, or operational issues.

Comparing the current month’s lot population against previous commission payment data - identify potential discrepancies and duplicates.

Produce commission statements and distribute them to sales management for review.

Track, research and resolve commission discrepancies and disputes by working with multiple departments within the organization – the follow-up to ensure all statements are approved by sales management by the predetermined payroll deadline.

Lead efforts to improve commission and reporting processes, with a focus on automation and reducing the risk associated with existing manual processes – work with management to document and implement approved changes.

Review and enter A/R adjustments into SAP.

Produce detailed weekly A/R trend reports, showing past due receivables by the customer, by branch, and by week.

Provide weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reporting and analysis for management, as assigned.

Assist corporate accounting with audit requests by reviewing selections and coordinating efforts to pull supporting documentation.

Organize, review and perform preliminary tests on audit selections – communicate any discrepancies to corporate accounting and management.

Document all processes and maintain well organized share-file structure.

Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Required

Associates / 2 year Technical School

2+ years of related experience

Skills & Competencies

Required

Strong operational accounting background in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Ability to work independently and multi-task.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Excellent customer service skills with demonstrated courtesy and patience in customer relations.

Must have excellent problem solving and decision making skills; with demonstrated experience of ability to problem solve, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

High degree of dependability and reliability are essential

Clear and succinct communications skills, both orally and in writing.

Proficiency using MS Office (Word, Excel).

Accuracy and extremely detail oriented, with the ability to document customer communications.

Familiar with accounting principles under GAAP.
