Nocturnist - Internal Medicine

A healthcare system in New York City is actively seeking a licensed Physician, with an Internal Medicine background, for a great Nocturnist opportunity with their team.

About the Opportunity

Location: Manhattan

Specialty: Internal Medicine

Schedule: 7 on 7 off, Nights

Responsibilities:

The Nocturnist will be responsible for:

Admitting patients to the hospital from the emergency department or transferring them from other facilities

Providing comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients throughout the night, including performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and developing treatment plans

Managing critically ill patients, including those in the intensive care unit (ICU). They may perform procedures such as intubation, central line placement, or chest tube insertion as needed

Communicating with patients, their families, and other members of the healthcare team to provide updates on patient status, discuss treatment plans, and address any concerns or questions

Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment interventions, and care plans in the medical record

Performing other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

Licensed to practice Medicine in the State of New York

Board Eligible / Certified in Internal Medicine
