Job Overview:

The TOPS SRE team serves as a centralized application escalation group for internal help desks, product/development, and infrastructure operational teams. We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our Technology team. You will be working as part of a cross-functional product team to create elegant solutions to highly complex and intricate business challenges.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that production applications which team supports are stable, reliable and well documented.

Own end to end availability and performance of mission critical services.

Help define SLIs and SLOs for individual software components of our tech stack

Analyze system architectures to identify single points of failure and other areas that may present a resiliency deficiency.

Provide proactive technical recommendations for system performance measurement and analysis, scalable architecture and profiling/troubleshooting techniques

Integrate Chaos engineering with CI/CD process.

Executing Game Days on mission critical applications.

Implement resilience engineering best practices - chaos engineering, fault injection, and failover for HA

Identification of top errors, reliability issues and driving root cause to avoid repeat of incidents.

Ability to analyze and debug complex issue across tiers from frontend to mid-tier to infrastructure

Develop Automation Tools and Frameworks for provisioning, config management, monitoring and deployment to streamline operations and improve reliability

Requirements:

8+ years of experience handling high-traffic, large-scale distributed systems, client-server architectures, cloud DevOps (Kubernetes)

Programming experience (.Net/Angular JS/Python/Go/shell) and hands on experience with monitoring and logging tools (e. g. Dynatrace, Datadog, ELK, Grafana, Honeycomb) and any Chaos tool (Litmus, Gremlin, Chaos monkey, and ChaosBlade).

Good knowledge of web technologies, databases and public cloud systems like AWS, Networking, System.

Experienced with variety of tools that help manage, understand, and debug large, complex distributed systems.

Experience with SQL databases - querying, profiling and performance tuning and troubleshooting issues and bugs.

Preferences:

Prior SRE/DevOps experience desirable.

Preferred prior experience with Kubernetes and Docker.

Cross collaborate with multiple teams like middleware, infrastructure and application development teams, in providing both short-term and long-term resolutions.

Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences, with a keen attention to detail

Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and implement best practices to improve products, processes, or services.

Capable of effectively organizing, prioritizing, and executing tasks utilizing resources and tools

Ability to identify issue proactively rather reacting to a problem.

Ability to create positive professional relationships across various technology groups.

Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle and willing to adapt to LPL’s SDLC process.

Mindset to identify and explore chaotic situations and conduct formalized experiments.

Pay Range: $96,160-$144,240/year

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
